Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SAP Basis Administrator to manage and support the SAP environments of our customers to ensure smooth operations as per desired availability and performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, planning, setup, and technical hands-on support of SAP landscape, as well as any interfaces in and out of the SAP system. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP Basis, strong technical skills, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Hands on SAP basis system configurations and administration, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting the SAP technical environment on an ongoing basis as well as scheduling and executing the SAP transport system and batch management.
- Development and maintenance of policies and standard operating procedures (SOP) relating to operation and support of the SAP environment covering change management, including backup/restore, disaster recovery, audit and in conjunction with the hosting team maintenance of the technical infrastructure reference documents such as technical architecture, interface references, hardware and software assets.
- Attend and contribute to weekly and monthly Basis meetings with relevant customer, third parties & IT stakeholders reviewing current activities & planning future basis activities
- Propose maintenance plans for approval and maintain the schedule for SAP Non-Production & Production environments
- Maintain audit logs and records for transports, client systems performance, up and down times, etc.
- Represent Basis team in any client and/or AMS or project meetings
- Periodic review of all SAP system parameters and document findings and recommendations
- Forward planning on hosting, networking and sandbox/development/QA/production environment requirements for Automation Solutions.
- Coordinate annual Disaster Recovery testing in line with customer expectations
- Establish and manage new SAP technologies such as Solution Manager or other tools made available from SAP. Ensure that appropriate controls are in place to manage processes and maintain compliance with internal and external audit rules
- Oversee/manage third-party software integration with the core SAP platform. Create standards and protocols for how integration will be handled and the technologies that will be used to support integration.
- Coordinate and work with the SAP Compliance team to ensure that system and data security guidelines are adhered to in the design and set up of the SAP environment.
- Interact with SAP development teams, configuration teams, various technical support teams, and business stakeholders to optimize and maintain the overall SAP reliability, availability, and performance for customers
- Provide technical support and administration of transport management, batch management, system processes, and production support for SAP environment
- Provide installation, configuration, integration, upgrade and testing services for new projects and on-going maintenance for SAP environments
- The position has a 24×7 on-call commitment and availability for evening and weekend and public holidays working as required by customer demands.
- Manage batch jobs including monitoring, creation, changes and updates within the SAP systems including creation of new jobs and changes to existing batch jobs, and working with customer IT team and users on the requirements.
- Oversee and monitor all SAP systems (work processes, users, system logs, short dumps, locks, developer traces, system traces, disk space, etc.); prepare and deliver system performance statistics and reports
- Assist with SAP Archiving activities
- Lead and coordinate with third parties the troubleshooting and resolution of problems related to performance issues for SAP ECC 6, S4Hana,SAP BI, SRM, SCM, Solution Manager, Enterprise Portal and interoperability with existing network and system landscape. Ensure RCCA are completed for all issues and appropriate approved actions are executed.
- Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required or coordinate these activites with other stakeholders ie customers and project team
- Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades
- Manage and/or participate in the application of SAP maintenance (hot packages and kernel upgrades) through all systems using a structured methodology.
